Vitamin D Synergy

I once saw the following sign in the office of a famous (now retired) practitioner of complementary medicine. It said:

There are four things your shouldn't look for bargain prices on:
  1. parachutes
  2. scuba diving equipment
  3. tattoos
  4. vitamins
Humorous, sure - but it contains a grain of truth.

The vitamins and supplements I've listed on my website are not the cheapest you can buy anywhere. But I can pretty much guarantee that you won't find anything substantially better.

The vitamins and supplements on my website meet at least two conditions:

  1. They're not mass produced. They're made by boutique manufacturers that for the most part deal with health professionals, and thus are not widely available in stores (you can usually find them only in the offices of doctors and other health practitioners). These manufacturers make things in small batches, use the finest ingredients and tend to “over-test”for quality, impurities, contaminants, and label accuracy. If there are five types of magnesium, for example, ranging from the cheapest (magnesium oxide) to the most expensive, they will tend to use the better version.
  2. All the products on the website have been checked out by me. I've chosen them because I believe they represent the best marriage of quality and price, because they have meaningful dosages of the ingredients they contain, and because they have been expertly designed and engineered. Just as an example: 5-HTP Synergy contains a small amount of vitamin B6 because B6 is needed to convert 5-HTP to serotonin. That kind of thing.

There are many choices of brands of supplements. Obviously the ones I've chosen are not the only good ones, but you can buy them with confidence knowing that they are as good as anything on the market.

The easiest way

I recommend the following core supplement program for everyone:

All of the above can be found under basics.

Individual vitamins, like B, C and D, and minerals like selenium can be found in the “A-Z” list.

I've also put some of my favorite choices for specific conditions and purposes - i.e. Brain Power, Cardio Health - into categories which are listed in the left hand column. Click on any one of them to see my recommendations.

but browse through the A-Z section as well when you have some time. You'll find many gems there I couldn't fit into the “specific conditions” pages (like Acetyl-L-Carnitine or Phosphatadyl Serine for brain power, for example!)

As always, let me know what you think!

Warmly,
